I’m alone at the coffee shop. I know I’m in a public place but I can’t stop tearing up. I get my handkerchief and wipe my tears. I message him, “Are you near? I really, really, really need a friend.”  He replies and says he’s on the way. 

I see a familiar face and he comes walking toward me. I smile and hug him and I cry. “You’ve never seen me cry before.” He smiles and sits down. I tell him everything.

There are a lot of people who come in your life for a reason. Predetermined? Maybe.

Sometimes, you think that life takes them away. There will come to a point that you even blame God, because of your selfishness and because you just can’t see why He would give you someone and take them away, just like that. And you mourn, because things can’t stay the same anymore, not as you wanted them to be.

But, the truth is, they don’t leave, their roles just change. Because He knows what’s good for both of you. He can give you someone who makes you the happiest person alive, but really, someone else will make you happier. Someone will make him happier. God gives you to one another to learn. And you should be grateful. 

There will come a day when that person will come into your life again, but he will have a different role to play. Something that will truly remain forever, a friend, that is. Someone who will just listen when you cry and talk about your troubles and your feelings. He will be there to keep you company while you’re alone at a coffee shop doing school work. And that is better than any kind of relationship there is.

I see how she looks at you. I see how you look at her. And I see how happy you are when you’re with her. I see your face light up when you’re with her. And I cannot even tell you how happy I am to see you find someone who fills your heart with so much joy. I know she will take care of you and you too will do the same.
